The company that has designed, manufactured and sold the baby jogger stroller for more than two decades is aptly named – The Baby Jogger Company. Its products are renowned the world over for a quality that tops the stroller lists, designs that are innovative, and strollers that are simple to use and store.

The Baby Jogger Company began in 1984, the creation of journalist and running enthusiast Phil Baechler. When Baechler’s son was an infant he wanted to keep up his jogging while still taking his baby out for a stroll. He tried that combination with traditional strollers and found it just didn’t work. Standard strollers just couldn’t take the constant uneven terrain of standard street surfaces. He designed the baby jogger stroller, constructing it with anodized aluminum for a frame that was lightweight and sleek. He added a seat made of Cordura nylon and three bicycle tires. This baby jogger stroller was the first-ever three-wheeled baby stroller.

From that wildly popular original baby jogger stroller evolved the Twinner, made to carry two children. These first two models were made for the serious runner, and its wheels were bolted in place. The strollers, therefore, didn’t fold. In the next decade several other models came into being.

The Zipper has storage compartments that fit below the handle and hold personal items. Other styles are the WalkAbout baby jogger stroller with smaller wheels that the runner style, the more rugged FunAbout, the large and sturdier Super Jogger with the largest bolted on wheels, Super Twinner, the Super Jogger two tot version.

1994 was the year of the Baby Jogger 2 and the Twinner 2. Both of these are equipped with a no-tool folding feature, and wheels in your choice of three sizes, all of which release quickly. Now its jogging parents can fold and store the baby jogger stroller easily.
